The first dumb photo we have is the new BK fish burger!
Yeap, its on promotion because it’s new. Now is the time to try this awesome burger at the cheap cheap price of $3.35 per!
… or is it?
What an amazing discount! I volunteered to give the counter staff the 5 cents but they declined. Man, you’d think after their earlier shenanigans they’d have learnt something.
Next we have a delicious menu item from the basement of Liang court. I don’t remember the name of the place in question but it’s the udon store just outside meidi ya supermarket.
I know it’s kind of blurry, so I tried to put a bigger photo below. However the Nokia 6300’s camera does not have auto-zoom, so I’m pretty much stuck with what I can get.
Here’s a close up of the udon:
That’s right, cold bukkake udon. Yum. Wonder if they have warm bukkake udon.
Incidentally, I had a cute reaction from a female friend who got shown this. Once shown she gasped and made a big-mouth :O face. The conversation then proceeded…
S (friend of mine): Do you know what bukkake means?
E (she, trying desperately to appear sweet and innocent): Ummm.. no!
S: Then why did you react like that?
E: *speechless*

according to wikipedia , “the word bukkake is often used in Japanese to describe pouring out water (or other liquids) with sufficient momentum to cause splashing or spilling. Indeed, bukkake is used in Japan to describe a type of dish where the toppings are poured on top of noodles, as in bukkake-udon and bukkake-soba.” i’m not sure what the current usage of the term is like, but perhaps it’s become one of those taboo words of ambiguous meaning like ‘gay’.

Searching for “bukkake” on wikipedia brings you straight to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bukkake , which is most definitely NOT the soba preparation version. Typing “bukkake wikipedia” into google will also bring you to that same page, regardless of whether you’re using google.com or google.com.sg.
The definition you quote above is indeed from the page http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bukkake . It is, however, taken out of context. The very first line of that page says:
“Bukkake is a group sex practice that features a woman (or man) being ejaculated on by multiple men or women.”
Gotcha! Heheh. It’s okay, your secret is safe with us =).

I think you have misunderstood me. I didn’t mean to say that I don’t know its sexually-linked meaning, I mean to point out that the (food-related) alternative meaning is apparently used commonly in Japan.
That was what I meant when I compared it with the term ‘gay’ (I do not pretend to be unaware of its meaning with regard to sexual preferences), which has an alternative, more innocent, meaning which is still alive (though usually avoided) today.
Since I am unfamiliar with the Japanese language/culture, I am merely suggesting that perhaps it is still acceptable to refer to udon as ‘bukkake’ without making a big deal of it as you have done, since wikipedia says that the word is ‘often used in Japanese to describe…’.

First off, I will admit that I know full well the meaning of ‘Bukkake’, especially among the Singaporean male community.
However, as pointed out by LcT (no relation by the way), ‘Bukkake’ is a word which means ‘to spill’ or ’spilt’. I have personally confirmed this with a native Japanese speaker. What is surprising though, is that my acquaintance actually claims to have no idea what the ‘other meaning’ is…
Acting innocent perhaps? I leave it for you to decide…
