Sony SUXASSES controller wins Emmy

Posted by Ray @ 4:52 pm

The half-assed, rumble-less copycat replacement for the Dual Shock controller has won an Emmy for Technology and Engineering.

I repeat: The Sony SIXAXIS controller, from the same company that brought you the Rootkit-DRM, from the same company that messed up production of the PS3, from the same company who basically copied the idea from Nintendo, won an Emmy for Technology and Engineering.

Thank God me and Sony have broken up. Now she’s up there sucking all sorts of people off for attention. Good riddance.

(Disclaimer: I have used neither controller)

Update: it’s a lie. Sheesh.

Obvious Day: Saddam’s Death Makes Middle East Worse

Posted by Ray @ 2:40 am

Strangely and inexplicably, Saddam’s execution by the Iraqi government made Middle Eastern tensions worse, not better.

Saddam Hussein at his trial

The death of the Sunni tyrant has only made the Sunni-Shia conflict worse. First, there was the leaked video of his execution, showing executioners taunting and jeering at him. It came as a complete and utter surprise to the entire world that someone would actually smuggle an unauthorized cell phone into the execution chamber, take a video, and upload the video to the internet.

What kind of sick, oppressed, vengeful victim of a tyrant would do this kind of thing?

And then there was the string of copycat hangings kids were engaging in all over the world. That kid in texas, and that other kid in India, and that Pakistani boy. Nobody could have foreseen that, either. It was utterly inconceivable that an event receiving this much attention would have such an impact. Inconceivable!

Oh well, who cares, that didn’t make the Middle East worse.

So what else did? Oh yes, the day he was actually hung. Apparently Sunnis and Shias celebrate Eid al-Adha (edit: aka Hari Raya Haji) on different days, and the Shias hung him on the very day the Sunnis started their celebration, sparking off yet more controversy.

Come now, really, who could have seen that one coming? Yes, Egyptian President Mubarak, but he’s the president of Egypt. His civilization peaked three thousand years ago, who cares about that has-been. Certainly not George W. Bush, who got a message from President Mubarak about the whole thing, then ignored it.

Everyone with half a brain, ask yourselves: Did you really not see this coming?
